Webtoys and the 1 Week Wargame

Happy Thursday, everyone!

I hope you have all had a wonderful January so far. It is quickly coming to a close, and I wanted to share some updates on what I've been working on. Webtoys and wargames

Webtoys

I've been wanting to have a more interactive part of the website where I can upload game, tools, toys, etc to the site that can be interacted with directly through the browser.

And while working with Godot on the project I'll talk about next I noticed that Godot allowed for direct HTML5 export. This made it the perfect time to test it out and get started on Webtoys.

You can find the webtoys page here in my projects page at the top of the site.

1 Week Wargame

Now on to the 1 Week Wargame.

I've been working on the much larger wargame in the background over the past two months, but I wanted something short and quick to put together that allowed me to experiment and iterate rapidly for the basic structure of a wargame. That is where this project comes in.

For this project I gave myself a few constraints to work within. I wanted it to mainly be contained within one scene, have one unit type, a very simple ruleset, convey the general ideas behind most wargames, playable within 2-4 minutes, have a working AI system, and be feature complete within one week.

All of which I feel I have accomplished.

Plus it runs in the browser. Which this took about another week to get sorted, but feel I've done well to get it running smoothly.

You can find it on the Webtoys page or by clicking here and the entire project is avaiable on my Github page.

Don't hesitate to give it a try and share your feedback!
