From WordPress to HTML: A Journey of Web Development

Happy Sunday everyone!

Today I am excited to share my journey of transitioning from WordPress to HTML for my website. It has been a challenging yet rewarding experience, and I wanted to take a moment to reflect on the process and share some insights with you all.

When I first started building my original website, Write-N-Refactor, many years ago I chose WordPress because it was user-friendly and allowed me to create content quickly. However, as I delved deeper into web development, I realized that I wanted more control over the design and functionality of my site. This led me to explore HTML and CSS again, which opened up a whole new world of possibilities.

While I was contemplating the switch over, I came across a Hostinger Black Friday 2024 deal for a webserver and domain name. I decided to take the plunge and purchase the domain name "rlsoft.dev" and a web server. This was a significant step for me, as it meant I was fully committing to this new direction.

After purchasing the domain name and web server, I started relearning HTML and CSS. I found numerous online resources, tutorials, and courses that helped me grasp the fundamentals. It was a steep learning curve, but I was determined to create a website that truly reflected my vision.

One of the most exciting aspects of this journey was the ability to customize every aspect of my website. I could choose the layout, colors, fonts, and overall design without any limitations. This freedom allowed me to express my creativity and build a site that resonated with my personal style.

It also meant that I had to take on more responsibility for the technical aspects of my site. I had to learn about hosting, domain management, and server configurations. While this was initially daunting, it ultimately empowered me to have a deeper understanding of how websites work. And learn what I did and did not want for my website

This will be a constant work in progress, but I am proud of the progress I have made so far. I have learned so much about web development, and I am excited to continue this journey. I am also grateful for the support and encouragement from my friends and family, who have been there every step of the way.

As I move forward, I plan to keep updating my website with new content, projects, and blog posts. I want to create a space where I can share my thoughts, ideas, and experiences with all of you. I hope you will join me on this journey and provide feedback along the way.
